Haven is full-service business management company focused on providing all financial and business services for today’s athletes, entertainers, entrepreneurs and talented, busy people of all walks of life. History has shown athletes, entertainers and other celebrities in particular have encountered significant challenges in their attempts to successful manage their financial affairs.

The Haven consists of dedicated, committed caring thought leaders with 100 years of combined experience, working for and working with extraordinarily talented individuals. All dedicated to helping our clients be the best they can be.

Inside the Haven we help educate our clients and those closest to them, to show them how to launch, manage and maintain their respective businesses. Haven’s hands-on approach is not driven by transactions. Instead it is relationship based, intent on achieving sustainable endeavors, to help clients be permanently successful in business and in life.

OUR TEAM

HORACE MADISON

Madison has almost 30 years of experience in the financial industry.

Initially as a Financial Planner/Advisor, for IDS/American Express. Then as a stockbroker at Bear Stearns. Eventually leading to him opening his own Business Management firm, where his business partner and he worked with clients including OutKast, Usher, Ma$e, DMX, Eve, Swizz Beatz, Nelly, Malcolm Lee and others. Madison spun off his own firm where he had clients including Lil Wayne, Young Money, Lil Jon, Dame Dash, Bobby Shmurda,Meek Mill, plus sports clients Arian Foster, Glen “Big Baby” Davis and others.

The Haven was launched to focus on helping artists, athletes, entertainers and entrepreneurs build, grow and manage businesses beyond their “day jobs,” for sustainable 2nd careers, passive income and or the accumulation and ultimately transferral of wealth.

ROB YOUNG

Young is a business executive with over 20 years in the sports, entertainment and financial services industries.

He is an independent registered investment advisor and previously a certified sports agent, giving him tremendous insight to that side of the professional sports industry. During his tenure as an agent he had the opportunity to work with the NFL, WNBA and MLB.

In the music and entertainment world he has worked with a number of well-known artists such artists including the owners of FuBu Clothing, Kanye West, Killer Mike and Goodie Mob, among others.

YANIQUE SHIM

Yanique Shim is a business professional with 20 years of experience. Shim started her career in business management, but later transitioned into global communications and events. She has spearheaded numerous successful projects in cosmetics, trade events, marketing, and business development.

Her accomplishments include talent relations, global strategy, and special events. While at MAC Cosmetics, she worked with influential individuals such as Eve, Missy Elliott, Diana Ross, Eartha Kitt, Christina Aguilera, Raquel Welch, and Lady Gaga. Shim has extensive international experience launching new events from concept to execution. The combined experience in business management and with events allowed Shim to develop expertise in creating and forecasting budgets for multiple projects, as well as singular events. Shim has implemented strategies for market growth, as well as business development opportunities.

MARCELA POVEDA

Marcela Poveda is a professional with a career spanning across politics, law, entertainment, and education.

She worked in law firms in NYC, before holding a Public Policy/Housing Fellowship at the National Puerto Rican Coalition in Washington D.C. where she monitored federal legislation and influenced the legislative process for underserved Latino communities.

Poveda later managed a production team at Atlantic Records and Zomba Music Publishing, worked as a business management consultant for Infiniti Motor Company, Starbury Corporation, and Snapple.

Currently, Poveda works as a Project Manager at the School District of Philadelphia, where she is responsible for overseeing special projects, developing communication plans, and executing outreach efforts targeted towards Spanish-speaking and multilingual communities.

KENT CHANNER

Channer has over 25 years of experience serving clients from an accounting, tax and auditing service delivery.

A former “Big Four” manager performing engagements across multiple industries, Channer's primary focus is help ensure accounting, financial statement preparation and tax compliance is complete, accurate and timely for all of our clients.

Channer works directly with the executive leadership and management teams to help ensure the fiscal and business management fosters profitable growth and lucrative monetization for our clients and partners.

He is licensed Certified Public Accountant serving a variety of clients with a mixture of Audit, Accounting, Tax Advisory and Internal Audit services.
